![]() Heather Lowenthal has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2010 when she graduated from Colorado State University, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She turned into an Auburn fan, much to the dismay of her dad (War Eagle!).ĭr. Nichols enjoys attending concerts, hanging out with her husband and their various pets and reading a good book with a cat (or two) in her lap. Nichols has special interest in preventative care, emergency medicine, and feline medicine. She then stayed on staff at Friendship as an emergency care doctor before joining the team at Woodley Gardens Veterinary Care.ĭr. Nichols completed a one-year rotating internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals, a 24-hour critical care facility in Washington, DC. She continued her career in animal health, and graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.Īfter graduation, Dr. After graduation, she worked in multiple veterinary practices as a veterinary nurse before applying to veterinary school, gaining invaluable experience. Nichols received her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Virginia State University. She has also lived in both Tennessee and Virginia prior to ending up in Maryland.ĭr. Laura Nichols is originally from south Alabama. He has a great rescued mixed-breed dog, Tubs, who can frequently be found hanging out in the office.ĭr. Storm enjoys long-distance/marathon running, leading a Tough Mudder Obstacle Course team, scuba diving, playing guitar, skiing/snowboarding, and rooting for the Gators. Storm serves on the Advisory Board for Veterinary Team Brief, a national publication that delivers practical skills for team-based medicine, and is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. He also is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture and integrates this treatment to the excellent care provided to the patients at Woodley Gardens Veterinary Care.ĭr. Storm has special interest in preventative care, internal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care medicine and enriching the human animal bond. ![]() He then practiced progressive general medicine and emergency/critical care in Florida, North Carolina and DC before taking over ownership of Woodley Gardens Veterinary Care in September 2015.ĭr. Storm was selected for and completed a rigorous one-year medical and surgical internship at Coral Springs Animal Hospital, a 24-hour critical care facility in Coral Springs, Florida. Storm lived in New York City for two years, working as a veterinary nurse and taking the prerequisite classes for veterinary school.ĭr. During his senior year, he shifted his focus from studying human to veterinary medicine. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Tufts University in Massachusetts in 2003.
